NetIQ AA Device Service is a lightweight background component used with NetIQ Advanced Authentication to enable secure, device-based multi-factor authentication on user workstations. It brokers communication between the Advanced Authentication platform and local hardware or OS-backed factors—such as FIDO security keys, smart cards, and supported biometric readers—so users can enroll and authenticate from browsers or client applications. Installed on endpoints, it keeps sensitive device interactions local while allowing organizations to apply centralized MFA policies across enterprise portals, VPNs, and other integrated services. The service focuses on secure, least‑privilege operation and encrypted transport for reliable, compliant authentication flows.
